Arleen,
Thank you so much for your support on the mural issue. We've met recently with some of the staff from the Portland City Council and things are moving ahead slowly. We are really hoping to have some new language that opens up the walls to murals by the end of the year. We'll keep you posted. I don't feel like we can relax until we have a new ordinance.
     Thanks again, Joe Cotter

We have the entire ruling online at http://pdxartwork.blogspot.com/2007/05/ruling-in-clear-channel-case-goes-to.html

To date the ruling has not been mentioned by local mainstream media, most of which rely on Clear Channel for ad revenue.

The business about a stopped watch being right twice a day may be a French saying. I've also seen it said to be a Polish saying. And, of course, it's a joke that Lewis Carroll made, too.

First, I'm stealing that French saying and posting it to my blog, now...Second, thanks for posting this. My husband's heroin addiction started from an OxyContin addiction, and the more of these kinds of stories I read after the recent OxyContin case, the more I realize it's not an uncommon progression. He's a different man from the man I fell in love with, and much of the damage that he's done to himself could have been prevented (or at least made more difficult) had the folks at Purdue behaved responsibly. It's infuriating.

I know that I have a tendency to blame everyone for my husband's problems except him, so this case has given me an excellent outlet to displace some of my rage...but I still think the rage is righteous...
