I can see what you saw on your walk, Arlene, and I can connect with your feelings when you listen to music or watch your friend with her flowers. I was just thinking this morning how important it is to simply get away from the "noise" of our daily lives so we can "hear" our own internal voice. I was outside for five hours yesterday simply pulling weeds and it was amazingly quiet in my mind. In that quiet I was one with all that was around me and within me. From that place we can not only hear but see clearly. And when I sit down to write, sometimes I'm amazed at what comes through me onto the page -- the wisdom that can be found by being in that creative flow that joins all things.
