I have been following your blog for the last few months, as I have done extensive research for a project on the WPA. My mother and father were kept off the bread lines by the WPA. My family knows Bill Irwin and I was thrilled to see this here. My father was an actor, Jack Gilford, and my mother, Madeline Lee Gilford was an actress, producer, writer and activist. My brother Joe Gilford is a playwright and teacher at NYU. I was the first and only Film Commissioner for the state of Colorado. I produced Equity shows for a nonprofit I created in Aspen called American Theater Showcase. I started a blog, (Red Diaper Baby Blog) but after seeing how organized yours is, I have a lot to learn. You and I should talk. I am currently working on a documentary on the Federal One of the WPA and the magnificent precedent for today. I have deep, lasting and important contacts in the theater and plan to use them to spread the word. I've found your articles inspiring. Please feel free to email me so that we can talk further. I believe you will be a wonderful resource for this project. Lisa Gilford
